The Youth of Taurus Charter

While each class that a student takes, holds within it, the power to unleash deep personal growth, drama can be an especially remarkable force in this respect.

Through collaboration and communication, drama cultivates a set of life skills that helps promote acceptance, encouragement and confidence in young students. There is nothing quite as daunting as being on stage, with the lights on you and an audience hanging on your every word, but drama teaches our students to handle this pressure with great calmness, nurturing self-esteem and self-expression.

We were lucky enough to watch this growth occur right in front of our eyes during this years Middle School performance.

Director Todd Hulet, who joined us at PDS this fall, has done a masterful job in his first PDS production! The Youth of Taurus Charter is a gripping, emotional play, requiring our students to plumb the depths of their emotional wells in order to bring this intense play to life. Each actor displayed incredible emotional range throughout the play, and as I looked around, every member of the audience was on the edge of their seats.

Not to be out done, the tech crew put together a flawless execution of lights, sound, and set, which added to the intensity of the play. It was a thrilling production, and we are so proud of the hard work that our middle school students put in to make the world premiere of The Youth of Taurus Charter a night to remember.

Keep Connecting,

JJ
